Sunday Outfit: Black Dress & Flannel

January 29, 2018

I can’t believe it’s Sunday again! Where does the weekend go? I swear it was JUST Friday. This Sunday, I decided to go with a comfy chic look because I had lots of running around to do.

I started out my morning with a special mass for my Tata (grandfather) who passed away a few years ago from cancer. Every year, my Nana (grandma) schedules a mass dedicated to him and then we go out for lunch as a family.

There are so  many memories I have of my Tata.  I remember he would take us camping and during the day, we’d go on overly-extended nature walks and sometimes, at night we’d all go off roading. I remember the whole family going to the beach and the San Diego County Fair in his camper. I liked sitting on the bunk bed above the driver’s seat. Before he got sick, I remember him as a nature lover, adventurer, party animal, bike lover and professional PB&J maker. I know he’s in a better place now, but I still think of him and wish he were here for us.

This year, our family didn’t get together after mass, but my Nana did go out to lunch with some of her church friends. After church, I headed out to dinner with Eddy’s family. We went to a Japanese barbecue house in Mira Mesa. It was so good! We topped off the meal with Salt and Straw, an ice cream shop from Portland, Oregon. The ice cream shop is known for its vegan items and it’s delicious flavors. I ordered the Almond Brittle and Chocolate Ganoche and Roasted Strawberry with White Chocolate. The strawberry flavor was the bomb dot com! I highly recommend it!

To end the day, Eddy and I watched the Grammy’s and now I am here writing this. Hope your Sunday was good and productive as well!
