Last month, I signed up for Ipsy, a personalized makeup and beauty product subscription. I’ve always wanted to try out one of these and after my sister raved about it, I decided to try it out.
The subscription costs $10 per month and I get 5 makeup or beauty product samples and a cute Ipsy Glam bag shipped to my house for free. It’s a great way to discover new products, and I love that you get to try the products before buying the full size. Makeup can get expensive, let’s be real.
My plan is to review each of the products in the bag and then create a makeup look using all the products.
So this is what was in my first Ipsy Glam Bag:
Here are my thoughts on each product:
Personally, I am really into mauve, gold and neutral colors so this eye shadow was perfect for me. It has a very warm, glittery shimmer to it. Even though I don’t normally use loose pigment eye shadows, I really liked this color and can match it with a lot of my other eye shadows. It gives any outfit a little pop and the size is pretty generous. I also loved this brush that came in my bag! It was perfect for blending the eye shadow.
So if you’ve read my other beauty posts, you probably know by now that I am really into Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner. Well, after using this I feel like Kat Von D has new competition. I love the precision pen on the Mellow Cosmetics eyeliner and I love how easily it glides through my eye lid and helps me achieve that perfect cat-eye look. I compared both precision pens and found that the Mellow Cosmetics Eyeliner is thicker than Kat Von D’s. So depending on my mood and the look I am trying to achieve I will use each eyeliner respectively. But overall, I loved it and want to try more Mellow Cosmetic products.
I can’t resist a good tasting lip balm. I mean, come on? Apple Harvest! I loved it! I also really liked how hydrated my lips felt after applying this lip balm and I love that it’s all-natural, non-GMO. The ingredients include coconut oil, sunflower oil, vitamin E, shea butter, cocoa butter, beeswax and a natural apple flavor. Sounds pretty natural to me! Oh and I forgot to mention, it’s cruelty free. LOVE.

I am so glad I got a concealer in my first Ipsy Glam Bag because I don’t really buy concealer. The package says it’s an “award-winning anti aging formula” and that it’s supposed to make your skin look younger. When I applied it, I used my finger to spread the formula around and then I put my foundation on top of it. The formula’s consistency was thicker than I expected. After wearing it for a full day, I didn’t notice any creases or cracks that some makeup normally gives you after wearing for a long time. Overall, I will keep using this but I’m still open to try any new concealers out so if you have any recommendations I’d love to know in the comments section.
Buy it here, and it’s on sale at Ulta right now!
Here’s the final look using all 5 products
I am super happy with all the products I got in my Ipsy bag! Can’t wait for the March bag to arrive in the mail.
